Singapore’s storied Black and White bungalows and their rich colonial past… provided an incredible opportunity for the designer to express his own personal taste while paying homage to the stately architecture.
The Singapore residence of Michael Fiebrich and David Hoss, this remarkable home was brought back to its original glory and beyond. Following the theme of these historic homes, originally built to house British army personnel, the timber floors were lacquered black and a warm khaki was chosen for the walls to highlight the white mouldings and fretwork.
The style of the home portrays a comfortable elegance and the rooms feel collected over time instead of contrived. The lush tropical gardens and pool terrace extend the personality of the home outside making it ideal for entertaining large parties or for secluded moments alone.
Michael Fiebrich’s Admiralty Residence was one of the first Singapore Black and White bungalows to be published in Architectural Digest and was also featured in the New York Times.
